Tokyo's Revolutionary 'AI Scientist' Destined to Alter Scientific Research.
A Tokyo-based high-tech lab has launched the world’s first “AI Scientist,” a cutting-edge AI program capable of fresh scientific discoveries.
An AI scientist is supposed to do scientific research from concept to report entirely on its own.
According to Sakana AI, the new technology’s creator, it can generate unique ideas, develop methodology, run tests, and publish a report for under $15 per paper.
According to Sakana AI’s most recent research study, the system can learn from its own reports, evolving and improving ideas over time.
However, because the system is still in its early stages, there are limitations and obstacles, according to Sakana AI. These include faulty idea implementation, page layout, and comparing the magnitude of two figures.
It was noted that AI Scientist attempted to boost its chances of successfully writing a report by altering its own code and parameters, giving itself more time rather than completing things faster.
While AI Scientist has the potential to be utilized unethically by influencing and plagiarizing material, the research report states that it represents a significant step toward attaining AI’s full potential in scientific research.
“We believe the AI Scientist will make a great companion to human scientists, but only time will tell to the extent to which the nature of our human creativity and our moments of serendipitous innovation can be replicated by an open-ended discovery process conducted by artificial agents,” according to the statement.
