At CES 2024 in Las Vegas, a flying car was unveiled in an international first.
XPeng Aeroht, claiming to be the biggest flying car producer in Asia, designed the vehicle.
The car is referred to as the “eVTOL flying supercar” by the Chinese manufacturer.
We had a special conversation regarding the necessity of flying cars in the future with Wang Tan, the co-founder, vice president, and head designer of Xpeng Aeroht.
“Humans are 3D animals, but transportation is 2D,” he said to The U.S. Sun.
“Everybody wants to fly actually and to have another view, another angle, to see the gorgeous view.”
Users would be able to fly out of congested areas and beat traffic, he continued.
Tan stated that while the eVTOL flying supercar is still under development, he has flown in another aircraft that he created.
CES attendees saw an actual demonstration of the car’s propellers shooting out of it.
A statement from the business read: “With its elegant fusion of design and technology, this vehicle offers the look, feel, and driving experience of a supercar, but can transition effortlessly from land to flight mode, allowing drivers to take to the air.”
When the car is in land mode, it seems like any other fancy car.
The automobile can be turned into a flying plane by flipping a few switches.
“In land mode, the vehicle seamlessly folds its flying components for an amazing on-road appearance,” the company continued.
“Upon switching to flight mode, it opens its arms, facilitating vertical takeoff and landing.”
It is intended to assist you in avoiding traffic and navigating through crowded locations.
“Effectively addressing the demand for short-distance, low-altitude travel,” according to Xpeng Aeroht.
The car’s price and release date have not been disclosed.
Additionally, Xpeng Aeroht has produced a modular automobile with a flying component.
The Air module is named after it and has a detachable flying craft.
Tan informed us that the car should be available later this year, with a price tag of about $200,000.
