Sundeep defended his restaurant.
Sundeep defended his restaurant, claiming that he opened Vivaha Bhojanambu not to make a profit, but to provide free food to anyone who visits the neighboring Chiranjeevi Blood Bank in need.

He stated, “We donate nearly 50 food packets per day from each of Vivaha Bhojanambu’s seven outlets.” Providing 350 free food packets every day, even at a cost of ₹50 per packet, amounts to a monthly gift of almost ₹4 lakh. When donating ₹4 lakhs worth of food for free, why would we preserve an old rice package that costs a few bucks?
Sundeep admitted that their restaurant had’minor difficulties’, but claimed that they had nothing to do with ‘cooking and safety’. He stated, “I’m merely discussing charity to emphasize that we don’t cut shortcuts. Regardless of how much charity we give, cleanliness is essential. And the Food Safety Department made no notice of any such difficulties. There was no stagnant water in the restaurant; it was a drain.
The star even claimed that his eateries received ‘large billings’ the day after the raid. “People who dine there trust our quality, therefore that was unaffected. We even had significant billings the day after the raid,” he explained.
The Food Safety Department’s claim
The Commissioner of Food Safety Telangana wrote on X (previously Twitter) earlier this month, listing the laws that were broken: “Chittimutyalu Rice (25kg) was found with a Best Before date of 2022 and 500gms of Coconut Grates were found with synthetic food colors. Stock has been dumped. Raw and semi-prepared foods stored in steel containers were covered but not properly labeled.
They noted, “Few dustbins did not have lids. Medical fitness certificates for food handlers were unavailable. Water stagnation was discovered in the drains within the kitchen premises. The water analysis result for the bubble water used in food preparation and served to consumers was not available.”
Upcoming Work
Sundeep reunited with Dhanush for his directorial debut, Raayan, which will be released this Friday. The film also features Kalidas Jayaram and SJ Suryah. He will also appear in the Telugu film Vibe, directed by Swaroop RSJ, and an untitled film by Trinadha Rao Nakkina.
