RAWALPINI – In three separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces killed 23 militants.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), seven soldiers were killed during the May 26 and 27 operations.
On May 26, an intelligence-based operation was carried out in the general vicinity of Hassankhel, Peshawar, where six terrorists were successfully neutralised by security personnel and various hideouts were discovered.
“Captain Hussain Jehangir and Havildar Shafiqullah also embraced Shahadat on May 26, while fighting gallantly,” stated the statement from the ISPR.
On May 27, security forces conducted another operation in the Tank district, where troops successfully engaged the militants’ location, killing 10 terrorists.
The third engagement took place in general area Bagh, Khyber District, when security forces killed seven militants.
However, during the heavy exchange of fire, five valiant soldiers Naik Muhammad Ashfaq Butt, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar, Sepoy Taimoor Malik, Sepoy Nadir Sagheer and Sepoy Muahmmad Yasin, having battled gallantly, embraced martyrdom.
A considerable quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were seized from the murdered terrorists, who continued to engage in countless terrorist acts against security personnel and innocent civilians.
“Sanitisation measures are underway to eradicate any more terrorists discovered in the region. Security forces are determined to eradicate the threat of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices by our brave warriors only enhance our resolve,” added ISPR.
