Saudi Player Links 444 Consoles To A Single TV, Creating A New Record.
In Riyadh, a Saudi gamer set a Guinness World Record for linking 444 video game consoles to a single TV. Ibrahim Al-Nasser of Riyadh revealed that he uses an Excel spreadsheet to track the many switch boxes and converters required to play each console.
Al-Nasser’s arrangement, which includes over 30 RCA switchers, 12 HDMI switchers, and a number of other connection techniques, was born out of need. “After a while, I noticed that I had a big stack of gaming consoles that I couldn’t play,” he told me. “The TV ports are limited, and if I wanted to play, I could either unplug the existing console or keep everything and add more switchers and converters.”
The notion of connecting all of his consoles to a single TV and attempting a world record came easy to him. “By adding more switchers, the idea came to my mind to connect all of the gaming consoles I have to the TV, then contact Guinness World Records because this project is unique.”
Managing the extensive network of cables was a critical component of the project. “A very important thing, if you notice here, is that the cables are almost hidden,” he told me. “I utilized every tool available on the market to manage the cables. It’s more than just playing; it’s like a museum, which is why the setup and record took so long.”
Al-Nasser’s collection includes a variety of systems, including a Magnavox Odyssey, an Xbox 360, a Nintendo Switch, a Wii U, and uncommon items like the Super A’Can. Despite its diversity, he holds one console in high regard. “For me, the best gaming console of all time, number one always and forever, is the Sega Genesis,” he stated.”
