Actor Sanaya Irani claimed that people in the film industry meet new girls to see if they are willing to compromise.
Sanaya Irani, an actor who has built a reputation for herself on the tiny screen, had a bad experience trying to break into the Bollywood and south cinema industries. In a recent interview with Hautterfly, the actor discussed an occasion in which she was told to wear a bikini simply because the movie featured major names. The performer, best known for her appearances in Miley Jab Hum Tum and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, discussed a variety of industry-related topics. She also mentioned being ashamed of her thinness.

During the interview, she was asked if she had any casting couch experience. She recalled an experience she had down south, saying, “Long ago, a person from the South asked to meet me for a film. At the time, I had no desire to work in movies. But this person was determined to meet me. So I attended, and after the meeting, he said, ‘We need a bit broader person’. And I said, ‘Then I am not the fuller person’. Many times, I believe that people meet females in the industry to find out if they have or have not slept.

When it comes to Bollywood, the actress recounted another instance in which she was forced to phone a Bollywood director. She explained that there was a lot of misunderstanding because she was informed she was auditioning for a music video when it was actually a film.
She finally consented to phone him, and when she did, the actor was advised to call back later since he was in a meeting. She contacted him again, and he inquired, ‘What’s the time?

Throughout the interview, she felt as if the director was lecturing her, and she was not having it. She questioned him strongly about the purpose of the call. “So he was saying, ‘I’m making a major picture with many famous heroes, and you’ll have to wear a bikini.’ And I was like, ‘And my character is?’ He was like, “Are you okay wearing a bikini?” He was getting a little harsh to me, so I hung up on him,” she explained.

Sanaya first appeared on television in 2007 with Left Right Left. She then played Gunjan Bhushan, a reclusive and studious character, in Miley Jab Hum Tum. She fell in love with TV actor Mohit Sehgal while working on the show. They tied the knot in 2016. In 2017, they competed in Nach Baliye 8 and finished second place. The 41-year-old is also recognized for her role in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, with Barun Sobti.
Sanaya made her acting debut in 2006, playing a cameo in Aamir Khan and Kajol’s film Fanaa.
