Peshawar – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene today (Monday) to sight the Ramazan moon at the Auqaf administrator’s office in Peshawar.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s chairman, Abdul Khabir Azad, will preside over the session, which will begin after Asr. The committee will make an announcement regarding the Ramadan moon sighting or not.
According to experts, the Ramazan moon will rise on March 10, although it will not be seen until March 11.
The first Taraweeh in Pakistan will take place on the night of March 11, with a 95 percent chance that the first fast will be observed on Tuesday (March 12).
Office timings
The federal and provincial administrations set hours for government offices throughout Ramadan.
According to a notification from the Establishment Division, the working hours for federal offices working five days a week will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while those working six days a week will be 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Friday business hours for all offices will be 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Punjab
In Punjab, the schedules for offices operating five days will be 10am to 4pm and for offices working six days 10am to 3.30pm.
On Fridays, the hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Other Provinces
The Sindh and Balochistan administrations have also announced the operating hours of government offices during Ramadan.
According to sources, office hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the exception of Friday, when the hours will be 9 a.m.
