Pooja Hegde roped in for Suriya’s next film with Karthik Subbaraj

Director Karthik Subbaraj said on Saturday that Pooja Hegde will co-star with Suriya in his next film.


Pooja Hegde, an actor, is working on an interesting new project. On Monday, director Karthik Subbaraj announced that she has been cast in his next project, which will star Suriya. Karthik announced the film on X (previously Twitter), stating, “I’m delighted to welcome @hegdepooja for #Suriya44. Welcome aboard, Pooja Hegde. #LoveLaughterWar #AKarthikSubbarajPadam. He tweeted a poster similar to the one he shared at the film’s announcement, with the words ‘Welcome onboard Pooja Hegde’ inscribed on it.


Pooja can be seen standing beside a pole that appeared on the first announcement poster. She smiles while wearing a saree against a backdrop of fire. This is Pooja’s first time sharing the screen with Suriya.

Suriya’s film with Karthik Subbaraj
Suriya revealed that he would collaborate with Karthik in March of this year. He published an announcement poster featuring a burning antique automobile. One of the trees in front of it had a heart carved into it, with an arrow protruding through. ‘Love, laughter, and war’ appears to be the film’s tagline. The untitled film will have music by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna.

Suriya was set to work with director Vetrimaaran on Vaadi Vasal, however the film has been put on hold indefinitely. He was also meant to collaborate with Pa Ranjith, however it appears that the project did not materialise. Later, he announced his second picture with Sudha Kongara, Puranaanooru, following Soorarai Pottru, but the production was postponed because the couple wanted to do ‘respect to the story.’

Pooja has been cast in the upcoming film Rosshan Andrews Deva alongside Shahid Kapoor. She will also appear in Adnan A Shaikh and Yasir Jah’s Sanki, alongside Ahan Shetty. Pooja was last seen in the 2023 film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which stars Salman Khan.
