ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Norway’s decision to acknowledge Palestine following Israel’s terrible military action.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz spoke by phone with his Norwegian colleague, Jonas Gahr Store.
The two leaders applauded the International Court of Justice’s recent ruling ordering Israel to halt its abhorrent acts in Gaza and Rafah.
Norway and Pakistan both feel that the UN-backed two-state solution is the best approach to achieve long-term peace in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hoped that Norway, Spain, and Ireland’s bold and principled decision to recognise Palestine’s statehood will encourage other countries to follow suit.
He expressed hope that the international community will pay equal attention to the plight of heroic, innocent Kashmiris who have faced cruel occupation and tyranny for the past 76 years.
