ISLAMABAD –Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that the execution of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran was the worst act of oppression by the Israeli government.
Addressing a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad, the premier stated that he denounced Haniyeh’s murder during a meeting with his government’s coalition partners and encouraged global organisations to take action against the Zionist state’s atrocities against innocent Palestinians.
Later, in absentia, funeral prayers for the late Hamas leader were held in the PM House mosque, attended by the Premier and Cabinet Ministers.

Speaking about the hardships of energy customers, the prime minister stated that the moment had come to alleviate their concerns by immediately putting an end to power theft, adding that Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir has assisted the government in eradicating this menace.
He also recalled China’s investment in the power sector during former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s previous term, which assisted him in reducing power outages that used to last 20 hours across the country.
He urged everyone, regardless of party affiliation, to support the government’s program for alleviating the electrical problem.
He also chastised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for failing to construct a single dam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, alleging that all promises to build dams were dishonest and deceptive.
Speaking on Balochistan, PM Shebaz emphasized the importance of addressing the Baloch people’s problems and demands.
The Prime Minister stated that he was aware of the hardships caused by taxes imposed on the salaried class in the recent budget presented by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government.
At the end of his speech, he took potshots at previous Prime Minister Imran Khan for stating ‘Absolutely Not’ to the United States, claiming that uttering such a remark caused irreparable harm to Pakistan, which he said was being restricted by the current government.
