ISLAMABAD –On Saturday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support to the just fight of the Palestinian people and praised the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) decision to force Israel to halt its assault on Gaza and Rafah.
“We hope the oppressed people of Kashmir would receive similar attention from the international community, as they too have been enduring brutal occupation and denial of fundamental human rights for the last seven decades,” the prime minister stated on his official X timeline.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq, has also welcomed the ICJ’s decision on Israel’s military action in Rafah.
Speaker NA stated in a statement that the ICJ’s verdict was encouraging, noting that the ICJ had exposed Israel’s horrors and ugly realities to the rest of the world.
He claimed that despite international court judgments and global outcry, Israel has continued to commit genocide against innocent Palestinians, and that Israel’s actions are terrorism.
Speaker emphasized that Israel had killed 36,000 innocent Palestinians, including children and women, and injured 84, 000 others. He further stated that Israel’s brutalities in Rafah had been continuous since May 7, following Gaza.
In a momentous emergency verdict in South Africa’s case accusing Israel of genocide, judges at the highest United Nations court ordered Israel on Friday to immediately cease its military assault on Rafah in southern Gaza.
