LAHORE -Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has been nominated in 20 additional cases stemming from the May 9 deadly riots, according to reports.
On Tuesday, the Inspector General of Punjab Police submitted a report to the Lahore High Court on this matter.
According to the report, which is available to Dunya News, Parvez Elahi is listed in three instances recorded in Lahore, four in Faisalabad, 11 in Rawalpindi, and one each in Attock and Gujranwala districts.
Justice Amjad Rafique of the Lahore High Court ordered the Punjab police chief to provide details about the cases filed against the head of the PTI’s Punjab chapter.
Earlier in the day, LHC Justice Sultan Tanveer approved Parvez Elahi’s bail application in the Punjab Assembly illegal recruitments case.
The judge announced the ruling, which had been reserved the day before.
