What happened?
Nandamuri can be seen on stage as a special guest at a promotional event for Krishna Chaitanya’s upcoming Telugu action flick Gangs of Godavari, which is currently trending on X. He is sporting a white sherwani. As he approaches the center of the stage, he respectfully requests the film’s actors, Neha Shetty (in a grey crop top and skirt) and Anjali (in a white sari), to move aside. Moments later, he pulls Anjali away, nearly knocking her over. Anjali, who is initially taken aback, quickly laughs along with Neha and the others on stage, but Nandamuri maintains a harsh attitude and continues to reprimand her. . Later, on stage, he gives Anjali a high five in an attempt to reconcile with her.

Nandamuri’s performance on stage sparked outrage on the internet. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta shared the video on X, asking, “Who is this scumbag?” When a fan informed him that the man was Nandamuri Balakrishna, a famous Telugu superstar, an Andhra Pradesh MLA, and the son of legendary Telugu actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao, Hansal replied, “Scumbag x 100.”
Another internet user criticized Nandamuri, saying, “This man is a superstar, a successful politician, and he’s on stage being cheered as he pushes a woman co-star…” Balayya is a repeat offender who never changes. “For further background, that actress has appeared in over 50 films. More over half of them serve as leaders. It’s unfortunate that this is the state of the industry, and it’s even more disappointing that there is no way to change it. “I won’t be surprised if there is a public relations spin on this,” wrote one person. “Typical Indian male trying to show masculinity by battering a woman,” said a third post.
Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently shooting his 109th film, which will be released in Telugu and Hindi.
