Mark Zuckerberg has announced a new ‘favorites’ feature for WhatsApp, which aims to improve user experience by filtering chats, groups, and calls.
The feature, announced yesterday via Zuckerberg’s official WhatsApp channel, is intended to help users prioritise and manage their interactions more efficiently.
The ‘favorites’ feature is now available and works with the most recent WhatsApp versions for iOS and Android. While some users may not get the update immediately, it is expected to be generally available soon.
This news comes on the heels of WhatsApp’s recent release of AI-powered business capabilities and the Meta Verified program, and it represents yet another step toward increasing user engagement and control.
The upgrade also builds on the recently released WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.15.10, which included an AI Studio feature with more chatbots.
This update improves users’ messaging experiences by allowing them to easily access their most essential discussions right from the chat tab. Users can flag individual chats and group conversations as favorites, making them more accessible and prioritized.
Furthermore, another filter to help customers quickly find their favorites is now available inside the calls page, making the process of scheduling calls faster because a phone call is only a tap away.
These filters improve interaction management by allowing users to effortlessly connect with their favorite contacts and groups.
