Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies will be screened on August 9th in the Auditorium of the C-block within the Administrative Building Complex.
Kiran Rao’s directorial debut, Laapataa Ladies, which tells a story on gender equality, will be presented in the Supreme Court of India on August 9. Director Kiran Rao and producer Aamir Khan will be present for the screening and will chat with the audience following the film. What did the circular say.
The video will be shown on August 9th at the Auditorium of the C-block within the Administrative Building Complex. The screening is part of ongoing activities to commemorate the court’s rich heritage.
The circular stated, “As part of the activities organized during the seventy-fifth year of the establishment of the Supreme Court of India, the movie ‘Laapataa Ladies’, which is based on the theme of gender equality, will be screened on Friday, August 9, 2024, in the Auditorium, C-Block, Administrative Building Complex.” The film’s director, Kiran Rao, and producer, Aamir Khan, will also be present at the screening.
About the film
Laapataa Ladies is set in a fake state named Nirmal Pradesh in 2001, where two brides are exchanged on a train. While one is carried home by another’s groom, the other is abandoned at a railway station. Kishan (Ravi Kishan), a police officer, takes the initiative to investigate the matter. It is based on Biplab Goswami’s award-winning story. Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Jyoti Deshpande produced the film under the banners of Aamir Khan Productions, Kindling Pictures, and Jio Studios.
The primary actors are Nitashi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Sparsh Shrivastava, with Ravi Kishan, Chhaya Kadam, and Geeta Aggarwal Sharma playing significant roles. It opened in theaters on March 1, however the picture did not perform well at the box office. It received a positive response when it was released on the OTT platform.
