Kavita Kaushik says she is getting offers to play ‘daayan’
When asked why she decided to leave the TV industry, Kavita replied, “TV toh mujhe karna hi nahin hai (I am not interested in working in the TV sector at all). I cannot do 30 days of work. I am open to performing online programs or movies, but I am not a typical-looking heroine that can be cast in any type of production. There are just a few types of roles that fit my personality. I keep getting offers for television projects based on daayans (witches), such as Shaitaani Rasmein. But I can’t live the same life as I did three years ago when I worked full-time in television. I’m grateful for that time, although I was young and desired money. But now I can’t commit that much time. In fact, even when FIR did not take long, I would complain.”
Kavita Kaushik claims reality programs are regressive.
Kavita went on to say, “TV content is also quite regressive, which is why I do not want to be a part of it. There was a period when television was progressive and offered a variety of entertainment. There was a wide range of entertainment options available to everyone.
However, the stuff we are now showing is extremely inappropriate for the younger generations to watch. The kind of degeneration depicted in our reality shows and dramas makes people detest one another. I was a part of it as well, and I am deeply sorry. I’ve played a role in that deterioration. I disagree with what they broadcast on television. At the end of the day, we are Indians, and we believe whatever is presented on television is true. “We are subconsciously inspired by it.”
Kavita last appeared in the Punjabi comedy-drama Carry on Jatta 3. She also took part in Bigg Boss 14.
