ISLAMABAD -In a brief ceremony here on Monday, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan took his oath as a Supreme Court judge.
Qazi Faez Isa, Chief Justice (CJP), gave the oath to the newly appointed Supreme Court judge.
The oath-taking ceremony was held on the premises of the Supreme Court and was attended by justices, top lawyers, and court officials.
Justice Afghan formerly served as the chief justice of the Balochistan High Court. The Supreme Judicial Council authorized his appointment to the highest court.
With the elevation of Justice Afghan, the Supreme Court now has 14 judges.
