LAHORE –On Sunday, the Jamaat-e-Islami said that it would launch a constitutional supremacy movement following Eidul Azha.
The party’s chief, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, made this comment during a news conference in Lahore.
JI emir stated that the country has been subjected to various sorts of slavery for the past 76 years since the elites have acquired complete control.
He stated that individuals who came to power by rigging cannot lead the country out of its current problems because they lack the faith of the people.
He stated that the current leadership, who came to power through the form-47s, sought to strengthen connections with India while alleging that this was the US policy.
He praised South Africa’s efforts in dragging Israel to the International Criminal Court because the Gaza situation was humanitarian, and he chastised Pakistan’s government for not criticizing Israel, let alone leading the charge.
He stated that “the supremacy of the constitution is very important as if the country runs constitutionally, it is better for everyone and when it isviolated, both the country and the institutions are ruined.”
He claimed that completing the Pak-Iran gas pipeline would allow Pakistan to decrease its ever-increasing gas import expenditures.
