ISLAMABAD –The Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Friday to facilitate pilgrimage to Makkah during this year’s Hajj season.
The court directed the use of digital communication services such as message alert systems to improve coordination and management. It stated that the court was keeping all of these cases pending and would resume in the first week of August following hajj.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the case submitted by private companies over the Hajj quota. The court stated that it would also oversee Hajj affairs this year and would not tolerate anyone making pilgrims complain.
Justice Arbab stated that the court would seek information from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and would summon travelers to question about the Hajj 2024 operations. The court postponed additional hearings on the case until next August.
