Actor Imran Khan took to Instagram to provide a sneak peek of his new home, which he has been building for years and built himself. Take a peek.


On Saturday, actor Imran Khan took to Instagram to show off the new home he’s building in the middle of wilderness. He also wrote a lengthy letter about the home’s design, which centered on the nearby streams and flora. Imran Khan built a residence.
Imran took to Instagram to post photos of a stunning house under construction surrounded by nature. He posted numerous photos of the house in various phases of development, as well as descriptions of how the architecture and other architectural elements came together. He quipped that he has played an architect on TV but is not an expert in real life. Imran also emphasized that the goal was not to design a large villa, but rather a residence that draws inspiration from the surrounding scenery.

He explained, “I chose the site because it was unusual. Uneven, surrounded by two seasonal streams, backed up against the base of a cliff, and facing the sunset. I realized straight immediately that the scenery had to determine the architecture of the house,” adding, “The objective was not to build a luxury vacation villa, but to create something that takes its cues from the landscape. The home isn’t designed to be the view; rather, it’s a place to observe it from.

Imran also explained how the sunlight, sunset, and flora around the house influenced the design. He added, “I spent the first year going to the site at different times to watch the sunrise and sunset, the flow of the streams when it rains, and the changing foliage through the seasons.” This gave me a holistic foundation from which I could update and redo my sketches.”

A unique approach.

The actor explained how they decided to forego traditional construction materials in favor of something unique, saying, “After consulting with my contractor and a structural engineer, I decided to forego concrete slab construction and instead follow the classic method used to build the houses in the surrounding villages; stone plinth for the base, single storey brick walls, steel roof beams, and pre-fabricated insulated roofing sheets.” “That’s it.”

Furthermore, Imran claims it cost him less than the pre-built villas he has seen, saying, “It took a while, and it’s a little uneven around the edges… but it was a joyous process.” Finally, it cost me less than one of the pre-made villas advertised across the neighborhood. “I’m wondering where the markup goes.”

Imran lately did several interviews, although he has yet to announce his comeback. He separated from Avantika, with whom he has a daughter, Imara, in 2019. He’s presently dating Lekha Washington.
