Forbes Rates UF Fourth Among The Nation's Finest Public Universities.
The magazine also placed UF as one of the top university investments in the country.
According to Forbes rankings announced today, the University of Florida is the No. 4 public university in the US and one of the top universities for return on investment.
According to Forbes, UF stood out among the country’s most prestigious educational institutions because of its ability “to offer students high earning potential with low debt burdens and a great return on their investment.” Both the Top 25 Public Colleges list and the Top 25 Colleges with the Highest Payoff list included tuition expenses, debt burden, earning potential, and the advantages of attending a top public state university.
“The University of Florida accomplishes great things, and we are not slowing down,” said Mori Hosseini, chairman of the UF board of trustees. “This ranking further validates our world-changing purpose as an outstanding and practical university. This board of trustees advances when we dare to be daring.”
The University of Florida provides an exceptional education at a reasonable cost, made possible by considerable financial aid that prepares students for successful employment. According to Payscale data, UF students earn a median salary of $56,398 six years after starting school and $123,700 ten years after graduation.
Forbes looked at high alumni salaries, low student debt, and strong returns on investment for all four-year public universities with at least 300 undergraduates. UF is ranked fourth among top public universities, ahead of Michigan, North Carolina, and Virginia. Three University of California campuses (Berkeley, Los Angeles, and San Diego) top the list.
“The University of Florida has had an unparalleled trajectory,” interim president Kent Fuchs stated. “We are going to keep our foot on the gas to enhance our university’s excellence and reputation.”
Forbes recognized UF as one of just 10 “New Ivy” schools that are “shining in the higher education landscape and churning out smart, driven graduates” who are highly employable in April. The accomplishment is just one of several honors the university has received from the publication.
Moreover, UF was named by Forbes Advisor as the top military-friendly online college in the nation for 2024.
