ISLAMABAD – On Monday, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong spoke on Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
While praising Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s letter to him upon taking office, the Foreign Minister expressed a willingness to strengthen the All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and upgrade the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Former finance minister Ishaq Dar was appointed foreign minister last week, at a time when the country’s foreign policy will be dominated by rising economic and security difficulties.
Dar, 73, is a certified accountant and seasoned politician affiliated with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party, which leads the current coalition.
