Maheshwari made his acting debut in 2011 with the daily soap “Dil Dosti Dance” and quickly moved on to reality programs like “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” and “Khatron Ke Khiladi”.

He then made his cinematic debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical drama “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” in which he costarred with Alia Bhatt.

He is currently awaiting the release of Neeraj Pandey’s musical romance-drama “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,” which stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu in pivotal roles.

“I want to continue enjoying this journey. However, I believe that people are sometimes hesitant to take risks on new faces or skill, and I have experienced this myself. In an interview with PTI, the 33-year-old actor said that directors such as Sanjay sir and Neeraj sir are taking risks on him and offering him opportunities.

“I’m sure they have their reasons but this is what I feel are the roadblocks for me, like if we don’t get or if scripts are not written according to the young generation, then it becomes difficult for us to showcase our talent,” said the actor.

Maheshwari plays the younger version of Devgn’s character Krishna in “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha“.

The plot revolves around Krishna and Vasudha, a couple who split when he gets imprisoned for murder. They meet paths 20 years later, when he is released from prison.

In the film, Saiee Manjrekar plays a younger Vasudha.

Maheshwari stated that working with experienced actresses such as Tabu and Devgn has helped him evolve as a performer.

Maheshwari stated that while watching Devgn, he realized the value of remaining cool during a performance.

“I had one scene with Ajay sir, and I noticed that he was quite relaxed, not trying to overdo it, and in the moment. He grasped the director’s words and the setting. “I was like, ‘Calmness is the key, breathe in, breathe out, and go for it,'” he said.

The actor recounted that he won “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha” after a month-long audition.


“You become scared at auditions, but you should also enjoy the process. And it’s okay to be nervous. After you’ve done enough auditions, you become acquainted with that sensation,” Maheshwari explained.

The film “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,” starring Jimmy Sheirgill, will be released in theaters on August 2.
