LAHORE – On Wednesday, JUI-F head Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed concern about the poor state of administration and democratic institutions, emphasizing the significance of encouraging political cooperation among opposition groups.
During a discussion with a PTI delegation, Fazl emphasized the importance of collective effort among opposition parties in addressing the difficulties of what he saw as a decrease in democracy, decreasing relevance of parliament, and diminishing significance of the constitution.
Following the meeting, Fazl spoke to the media with PTI leaders Omar Ayub and Asad Qaiser, emphasising the importance of political cooperation among opposition parties, stating that there was no dispute on this point.
He emphasized the importance of conversation in today’s society in eradicating animosity, saying, “If we cannot end differences, we can soften attitudes.”
Omar Ayub, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, had similar sentiments, saying they had a fruitful conversation with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who greeted them warmly. He confirmed that the conversations would continue in the future.
Ayub swore to uphold the supremacy of the constitution, saying that their meetings and conventions will be conducted throughout Pakistan.
Ayub emphasized the relationship between democracy and investment, claiming that investment will only come when democracy thrives.
He also criticized the recent police attack on the party’s secretariat.
Addressing the media, PTI leader Asad Qaiser stated that the country currently operates as a public limited company.
He stated that during the discussion with the JUI-F president, they also discussed the wheat problem in Punjab.
Qaiser emphasized the importance of opposition parties banding together to ensure the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law, stating that the country’s current jungle law must be abolished.
