We have exclusive information that Naseeruddin Shah has been cast in a fascinating part in Sonu Sood’s Fateh.
Fateh’s star cast appears to have just gotten even more interesting, as we now exclusively report that legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah has joined the Sonu Sood-starrer, which is also funded by the latter. According to the source, Shah has already filmed for the majority of his role in the film, and “he will play a pivotal role, driving the story of the movie”.
The film, which also marks Sood’s directorial debut, is based on real-life instances of cybercrime that occurred during the Covid pandemic. “Naseer will portray the character of a hacker. He is quite excited about the film and the audience’s reaction to it because it is incredibly topical and depicts today’s real reality. When it comes to writing, Naseer prefers real and relevant storylines,” according to the source, referring to Shah’s films such as A Wednesday (2008), Manthan (1976), and Kuttey (2023), all of which deal with real-world issues.
Even though the action thriller’s teaser and poster have already been out, nothing about Shah’s role has been revealed yet. “No one will know about Naseeruddin’s involvement and portrayal in the film until the trailer is out. He will also have a significant role in the trailer, which will be released closer to the film,” the source says.
We also reached out to Sood for an official confirmation, and he confirmed our tale, adding he’s thrilled that the veteran is featured in his movie. “Yes, Naseer Sir is a member of Fateh. “He has a phenomenal role in the film,” Sood tells us.
