ISLAMABAD –Barrister Saif, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Adviser, stated on Wednesday that the revisions to the Election Act were intended to safeguard the phony government created under Form 47.
He objected to the new developments in the Election Act, claiming that the revisions were intended to delay justice and eliminate transparency. “We reject this black law,” he stated.
He also revealed that the KP Assembly had passed a resolution opposing the law.
According to the new law, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would be able to select both serving and retired judges to the election tribunal.
The ECP intends to form new panels of retired high court judges without consulting the high court chief justices.
