RAWALPINI – On Monday, funeral prayers were held in Peshawar Garrison for five troops who died as martyrs during an operation against terrorists in Khyber area.
Sepoy Taimoor Shaheed, Sepoy Nadir Sagheer Shaheed, Sepoy Muhammad Yaseen Shaheed, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar Shaheed and Naik Ashfaq Butt Shaheed were killed in a heavy firefight with terrorists in the general area Bagh.
The funeral was attended by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, and a significant number of military and civilian officials.
Later, the COAS went to CMH Peshawar to inquire about the well-being of personnel injured during the operation. He praised their excellent morale and underlined the nation’s determination to confront terrorism with all its might and passion.
The martyred servicemen will be laid to rest with full military honors in their home towns.
Upon arrival, COAS was met by Commander Peshawar Corps.
