General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), warned on Thursday to stand firm against any attempt to cause instability in Pakistan, reaffirming the military’s commitment to national integrity and preserving Shariah and constitutional principles.
Speaking at the Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad, General Munir emphasized the gravity of corruption, calling it as the biggest evil in Allah’s eyes.
He stated that the Pakistan Army is committed to removing discontent and instability by divine guidance.
“We will stand before anyone who tries to create chaos in Pakistan, by God,” said the Army Chief, emphasizing the military’s commitment to maintaining the country’s peace and security.
General Munir emphasized Pakistan’s long-standing support for Afghan refugees and asked them to maintain peaceful relations with Pakistan.
He recognized the sacrifices made by the Pakhtun community and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fight against terrorism and expressed the Army’s sympathy with them.
Addressing extremism, General Munir emphasized the Islamic doctrine that “there is no coercion in religion” and condemned criminal mafias’ support for terrorism.
He warned against the rise of chaos on social media sites.
General Munir emphasized the sanctity of the Prophethood and stated that Islamic principles must be protected first and foremost.
“Pakistan is built to last,” he declared, emphasizing the country’s resilience to external challenges.
Drawing lessons from crises in Iraq, Syria, and Libya, he urged religious academics to encourage tolerance and unity.
He criticized Western civilization and promoted national pride in Pakistani culture.
In his closing remarks, the COAS addressed the long-standing Kashmir issue and expressed regret over the ongoing crimes in Palestine and Gaza, urging Pakistan to reinforce its defenses against global threats.
