ISLAMABAD – Sikandar Sultan Raja, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), left the nation on Wednesday for a vacation abroad, according to Dunya News.
According to sources, the CEC has traveled abroad for a private visit, where he will stay for five to six days. Sikandar Raja will resume his duties as CEC upon his return to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, elections for six Senate vacancies will take place on Thursday. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that voting will take place in the National Assembly, as well as in Sindh and Balochistan assemblies.
Polling began at 9 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m. in Parliament House and in the buildings of the Sindh and Balochistan assemblies.
