In a recent interview, Bobby Simha discussed the terrible feedback Indian 2 received following its release. However, he drew criticism from others.
Kamal Haasan and Shankar reunited after more than two decades for Indian 2, which piqued audiences’ interest. Unfortunately, the sequel to their classic 1996 film failed to impress, with both the public and critics dismissing it. Bobby Simha, who also appeared in the film, discussed the bad reviews with Behindwoods. “They make up reasons to criticise.”
When asked about the poor reviews, Bobby defended the film. He said, “Everyone believes they are intelligent. If something is good, people believe they will appear silly if they confess it. Instead, they come up with reasons to criticize it. We shouldn’t worry about them. We merely need to think about the audience, the family audience that enjoyed the film. We don’t need to worry about intellectuals or their viewpoints.” He also stated in the interview that Indian 2 should not be evaluated till people see Indian 3.
Bobby Simha trolled over the statement.
Bobby’s statement irritated moviegoers, who accused him of blaming the audience rather than the filmmakers for the disaster. One user posted on X (previously Twitter): “#BobbySimha, rather than blaming audiences, recognize the problems in the film and strive to amuse them truly. Please watch your fantastic performances in #Indian2 again. “Don’t underestimate the audience.”
Another remarked, “Bobby Simha, it is critical to recognize and accept the audience’s varied viewpoints. People’s disdain for #Indian2 is a reflection of their real-life experiences. Perhaps you could see the film with the general public rather than celebrities to better grasp their perspectives and feedback.”
One irritated individual wrote, “If someone complains in a hotel that the sambar is terrible, the kitchen worker will blame the customer who doesn’t know how to taste it – Bobby boy logic. Please sit and watch your own flicks starting now.”
However, some fans defended him, with one stating, “If you listen carefully, he never chastised the audience. Do not twist his statement. He is definitely referring to the so-called film intellectuals who consistently find flaws in all films.”
