Akshay Kumar says he is more ‘mindful’ of the films he chooses now as audience has become selective after the pandemic

Akshay Kumar has spoken about the shift in audience choices in their recent films. The actor’s upcoming release is Khel Khel Mein.

Akshay Kumar is currently one of the most productive actors in the industry, with at least four films released each year. The actor, who has failed to achieve film office success this year, spoke with Forbes India and stated that he has become’more careful’ of the parts he chooses to play since the public has grown significantly since the pandemic. When asked if the pandemic has impacted the way he chooses his films during the interview, Akshay responded: “The pandemic has undoubtedly changed the dynamics of the film industry.” With viewers becoming increasingly discerning about their cinematic experiences, it has become critical to select movies that provide something completely exciting and distinctive. I’ve become more conscious of the substance, ensuring that it reflects current events and gives an experience that deserves a trip to the theatre. It’s about discovering stories that not only entertain but also deeply resonate with the audience.”

‘I sleep, eat, and work at certain times.’
The actor also discussed how he stays motivated after decades of working in the profession. “My greatest strengths have been my discipline and work ethic. I work on a timetable. I sleep, eat, and work at specified times and aim for a certain number of hours. I’ve been following this for years. Staying active, both emotionally and physically, has also contributed significantly to my longevity in the field.The drive stems from a real passion of what I do and the desire to continue making films that support so many people’s livelihoods.

Akshay was recently seen in Sarfira, a Hindi adaptation of Soorarai Pottru that starred Suriya. It is inspired by events in the life of Air Deccan’s founder, Captain GR Gopinath. He also appeared in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Tiger Shroff, which was released in April.

Akshay will next appear in the comedy film Khel Khel Mein, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. It opens in theaters on August 15.
