Some of Akshay Kumar’s recent films, including Raksha Bandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, and Mission Raniganj, have not performed well in India.
Akshay Kumar is hoping that his forthcoming flick Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will put an end to his recent box office slump. According to news agency PTI, Akshay stated that he persevered despite providing 16 flops in a row at one point and will continue to do so. Most of Akshay’s recent releases, including Raksha Bandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, and Mission Raniganj, have underperformed at the box office. OMG 2, in which the actor played a significant part, was the exception. (Also Read: Salman Khan hopes Bade Miyan Chote Miyan would ‘beat the record’ of Tiger and Sultan; see Akshay Kumar’s answer.)
Akshay discusses his failure films.
“Whether it was Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Airlift, Rustom, or any of the other projects I’ve worked on… Sometimes there is success, and sometimes not. It’s not like I’ve never seen this period before. I once had 16 straight flops. But I stood there and continued to do work,” he claimed.
“I will still do that. This (Bade Miyan Chote Miyan) is a film for which we have all worked extremely hard. Now we’ll see the outcomes. “Keeping our fingers crossed, we hope that this will bring us all good luck,” the actor continued.
Akshay spoke during the trailer premiere for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan on Tuesday. Co-stars Tiger Shroff, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and director Ali Abbas Zafar all attended the event.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan would see Akshay and Tiger performing death-defying exploits as two elite soldiers on a quest to reclaim a stolen AI weapon from the adversary, played by Sukumaran. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, produced by Pooja Entertainment in collaboration with AAZ, will be released on April 10 to coincide with Eid.
