SWAT- An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale rattled Swat and surrounding districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province late Thursday night, according to Dunya News.
People rushed out of their homes and began reciting verses from the Holy Quran. There were no reports of casualties or property damage in Swat as a result of the earthquake.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad, the earthquake’s epicenter occurred at a depth of 71 kilometers near the Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan borders.
Earlier in the day, an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale rattled various towns in Pakistan, including Islamabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, and Swat. Additionally, earthquakes were felt in Muzaffarabad, Lower Dir, and Malakand.
