RAWALPINI – The hearing on the 190 million pound referral without proceedings has been postponed until June 4 due to a lack of lawyers in court.
During the hearing, Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi appeared in court. Both claimed their counsel were unable to appear in court because they were facing terrorism charges in Islamabad.
The court asked why Imran Khan’s lawyers, who submitted the plea, had not arrived.
Imran Khan said that the lawyers who were meant to defend the reference had been accused of terrorism.
The prosecution’s nine witnesses were unable to be cross-examined since PTI lawyers were not present at the hearing.
Barrister Salman Safdar, representing the defendants, appeared in court. PTI lawyers Azhar Saddique and Shoaib Shaheen, among others, filed the petition in court.
The petition claimed that Usman Gull, the attorney who had to cross-examine and defend the 190 million pound reference, had been implicated in the terrorism investigation.
The judge adjourned the hearing without proceeding until June 4.
