Future influencers mistreated animals on YouTube in exchange for likes

Authorities reported that a lady from Pennsylvania has been accused of abusing animals in exchange for likes on YouTube.

After the animal rights group PETA informed the Upper Darby Police Department about the YouTube channel, Anigar Monsee, 28, was taken into custody on January 19 and charged with four felonies charges of severe cruelty to animals, as reported by 6abc, NBC 10, and Patch.com.

According to the publications, authorities have accused Monsee of torturing and killing live creatures in the recordings she uploaded to the internet over the past year, including pigeons, frogs, chickens, and rabbits.

Authorities asserted in an affidavit obtained by NBC 10 that Monsee seemed to prioritize getting more likes over hurting animals and that several of her remarks were suggestive of sexual behavior.

PETA contacted Upper Darby police after learning of the films being uploaded to the account through a tip.

Police said that after being placed under arrest, Monsee acknowledged abusing the animals.

The community guidelines on YouTube state that videos that depict animal abuse are not allowed.

“Content that is violent or abusive toward animals is not allowed on YouTube, and we have terminated the channel in question,” a YouTube spokeswoman stated in an NBC 10 statement.

PETA spokesman Kristen Rickman told 6abc, “The best we can do is just to honor them by making sure this kind of behavior does not continue, and that more animals aren’t made victims.”

According to media sites that cite court records, Monsee is scheduled to appear in court on February 5 for a preliminary hearing.
