LAHORE – A lawsuit has been filed against Naib Emir Pir Zaheerul Hassan Shah of the Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) for threatening Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
The case was filed by the Qila Gujjar Singh police on the complaint of SHO Hammad Hussain.
The case has been lodged under the Anti-Terrorism Act, as well as other legal laws such as propagating religious hatred, sedition, threatening the higher judiciary, and interfering with and impeding statutory tasks.
According to the FIR, the suspect threatened and propagated hatred for the judiciary during a rally outside the press club.
The TLP vice chairman and 1,500 employees have been named in the FIR.
The government already warned hate-mongers to take action.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Federal Minister for Defence, cautioned that religious pretexts were being used to justify bloodshed.
Referring to the continuing campaign against Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, the defence minister stated that a few misguided people were targeting the CJP over a recent Supreme Court decision that, he claimed, had nothing to do with the CJP.
Minister Ahsan Iqbal shared his thoughts during the press conference, recalling how a political party was formed in 2018 to cause turmoil.
Iqbal reported religious authorities’ rulings declaring that terrorism, sectarianism, and suicide murders had nothing to do with Islam.
