Rashami Desai: It’s the beginning of my film career, has been a difficult journey

Rashami Desai discusses her recent Bollywood stint at JNU and her future plans.

Rashami Desai became a household name in the television business after starring in the serial Uttaran. However, few people know that she made her Bollywood debut with Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke (2004). The actor, who was last seen in the film Jahangir National University – JNU with Urvashi Rautela, says her career in the Bollywood business did not take off at the time, and she remained with television series, but it is picking up now.

“I have always thought that wonderful things come with time and patience. Over the years, I’ve learned the conviction and faith in myself to be patient until things unfold as I want them to. Sometimes, in order to accelerate a little more in life, you have to go in backward first and then proceed at a quick pace,” she says, adding that JNU will mark the start of her Bollywood career.

“That was the main focus for me here. JNU has been a solid start to the attention you mentioned, and I am delighted that many fans and reviewers have praised the work done there. So, yeah, the beginning has occurred, but there is still a long way to go, and I am ready for it.”

When asked if appearing in television shows for a long time had been a barrier for Desai, she responds, “I believe it’s more about how you look at it than labeling it as an obstacle on its face.” Yes, certainly.

Furthermore, she reveals that she has many Bollywood and OTT projects in the works, but she is not yet at liberty to discuss them. “Yes, there is a lot going on in the pipeline. Some projects have been completed, while others are still being discussed. Obviously, I am not in a position to discuss any of it until official announcements are made. But, sure, there is a lot going on, and I am very excited about this stage of my career as an actor,” the 38-year-old admits.

Meanwhile, Desai posted images on social media from her recent meeting with Transport and Road Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi. “To be honest, everything went smoothly. He is one of our country’s best and most reputable leaders, and everyone can see the excellent work he has done. We need more great guys like him. It was an honor and privilege to meet him. He is extremely kind and humble, with no air about himself,” she says, not divulging much about her visit.

“I’m not sure if I should say too much about it in public or not. But, being in Delhi, this was undoubtedly on the cards. Efforts were made for a long period, and it eventually worked out. God gave me with wonderful fortune and the perfect people to assist me with this, and all I can think of is the positivity that I carried with me after meeting with him,” the actor says.
