Karimabad – Five people drowned when a motorcar plunged into the Neelum River near Karimabad in Neelum Valley on Sunday, according to police.
According to reports, a vehicle carrying 14 people was driving from Neelum Valley, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to Taobut when it slid off the road and into the Neelum River.
Police officials confirmed that five people died, six were rescued, and three others were still missing.
A senior police officer stated that retrieving the vehicle from the fast-flowing Neelum River was proving difficult.
He expressed concern that the three missing people may still be trapped inside the submerged vehicle.
