Muzaffarabad – The family of Ahmed Farhad, a missing Kashmiri poet, received him on Wednesday at the Kahori police station near Muzaffarabad, according to Dunya News.
Following the meeting, Ahmed Farhad’s brother Syed Liaquat Shah told reporters that Farhad’s condition was stable and that they would now pursue a legal struggle in the AJK.
Earlier in the day, the federal government informed the Islamabad High Court that poet and journalist Ahmad Farhad, who had been missing for the previous 15 days, was in Azad Kashmir police custody.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court presided over the recovery of missing poet Farhad’s case. Iman Mazari stood in court on behalf of Farhad’s wife, while the Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) represented the federal government.
Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan informed the court that Farhad had been arrested and imprisoned by the Azad Kashmir police.
In addition, the attorney general filed a report in court on the Dheer police station in Azad Kashmir.
It should be noted that poet Farhad went missing 15 days ago in Islamabad. Farhad’s wife, Arooj Zainab, had filed a complaint with the IHC to retrieve her husband.
