ISLAMABAD – On Thursday, the District and Sessions Court acquitted PTI founder Imran Khan in two instances relating to the May 9 riots.
Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir announced the previously reserved ruling on Khan’s acquittal pleas in the cases brought against him at the Shehzad Town police station.
The court acquitted the PTI founder because of a lack of evidence.
In both trials, lawyers Mirza Asim Baig and Naeem Panjotha defended the PTI founder.
Advocate Baig claimed that the FIRs were filed against the PTI founder by an unauthorised individual. He had also pointed out the absence of proof against his client.
