Imran Khan finally opens up about the reason why he separated from Avantika: ‘I was dealing with all of this baggage…’

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik divorced in 2019. The actor is presently dating Lekha Washington.

Imran Khan has revealed why he parted from ex-wife Avantika Malik. In a new interview with India Today, the actor stated that he does not want to add to the gossip, but that he was ‘dealing’ with internal conflict, which did not help him maintain his relationship. In the interview, Imran stated, “Without going too much into that part, because I’m hesitant to add a lot of fuel to the gossip fire, but as I was dealing with all of this baggage and all my internal struggle, I did find that my marriage and my relationship were not helping any of that.”

He went on to say, “In an ideal, healthy dynamic between two people, you are both making each other better, healthier, stronger, and supporting each other in being the healthiest, greatest, and strongest versions of themselves. We weren’t in that location.

Avantika married Imran in 2011. They had a daughter named Imara. However, reports about their split emerged in 2019. Imran and Avantika have not remarked on it. Avantika had, however, hinted to suspicions of a breakup in her social media posts. In 2021, she posted of feeling’stuck’ and sought consolation in the ‘darkest nights’. Imran and Avantika split up last year, according to reports.

Imran Khan made his acting debut in Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na (2008), with Genelia D’Souza. Imran’s most recent release was Katti Batti, which also starred Kangana Ranaut. The picture did not do well at the box office. Imran claimed that his comeback, a spy series for Disney+ Hotstar, was in the works but was canceled.
