Peshawar – Federal Minister Amir Muqam has stated that presenting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) budget to the Federation is an affront to the people’s mandate.
Amir Muqam, speaking at an event in Peshawar, criticized the KP budget, claiming that it was based on unrealistic assumptions. He said that there are occasional discussions about marching on Islamabad, threatening to close dams, or taking Wapda House. He stated that the dams and grid station do not belong to any particular party.
Muqam highlighted that such threats have mislead the public for far too long. He asked the ruling party to be serious. He accused the provincial government of mocking the province’s politics.
He went on to say that misleading the public will yield no results. Despite receiving a mandate for the third time in the province, the PTI, which ruled it for ten years, has failed to attract significant investment.
The minister also commented on May 9 and its losses, stating that it is unclear how much Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will receive from the federal government.
The federal minister reiterated that Pakistan belongs to everyone and denounced the previous practice of burning utility bills during sit-ins. He emphasized his commitment to contributing to the country’s progress.
Muqam also committed to prioritise the lawyers’ problems, recognising the importance of both the bench and the bar.
