ISLAMABAD –Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) sought suggestions from all justices on Friday about a letter submitted by six IHC judges accusing intelligence agencies of interference in judicial matters.
Following Supreme Court orders, the IHC chief justice requested suggestions from judges by Monday (April 22).
According to sources, suggestions were also solicited from the District and Session Judges of East and West Islamabad.
According to sources, a copy of the Supreme Court’s ruling was also sent to the judges, and a decision on convening the whole court will be taken based on their proposals.
On March 26, six judges of the Islamabad High Court wrote to the Supreme Judicial Council, accusing intelligence services of interfering with the court and requesting guidance on the issue.
The prime minister initially constituted an inquiry commission in conjunction with the chief justice, but the chief justice later took suo moto notice and scheduled a hearing on the subject.
