LAHORE –To commemorate Pakistan Day, a solemn change of guard ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore.
Air Vice Marshal Tariq Mehmood attended the occasion as a special guest. On this occasion, a neatly dressed Pakistan Air Force unit took over security duties at Mazar-e-Iqbal.
The primary guest of the occasion, Air Vice Marshal Tariq Mehmood, lay a flower wreath at Mazar-e-Iqbal. He offered Fatiha and left his compliments in the guest book.
Allama Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877 in Sialkot. He received his M.A. in philosophy from Government College Lahore before moving to London to pursue his legal degree at Lincoln’s Inn.
He earned his PhD in philosophy from Germany’s Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Approximately 7,000 of his 12,000 pieces of poetry are Persian.
