The most nominated show for BAFTA Television Awards is “The Crown.”

A clip from former football player David Beckham’s docuseries is also up for a trophy in the BAFTA Television Awards, which were announced on Wednesday. The finale season of Netflix’s royal drama “The Crown” lead the nominations.

Eight nominations for the annual British television industry awards have been announced for “The Crown,” which dramatizes the political and personal events that influenced the late Queen Elizabeth of Britain’s reign. Four of these nominations are for acting.

Among the cast members nominated are Dominic West, who plays Prince Charles at the time, and Elizabeth Debicki, who plays the late Princess Diana.

Season six finale “Demon 79” of the anthology series “Black Mirror” has garnered seven nominations, with Anjana Vasan nominated for main actress. She portrays a shop clerk who needs to kill three people in order .

The crime drama “Happy Valley” is nominated for six awards, including one for leading actress, which goes to Sarah Lancashire. Helena Bonham Carter for the biographical miniseries “Nolly” and Bella Ramsey for the post-apocalyptic video game adaption “The Last of Us” are among the other finalists for that award.

Both the television series and the drama about the media family “Succession” have received five nominations apiece. They are competing against works such as the miniseries “Beef” and the culinary drama “The Bear” in the international category.

Over one hundred programs have been nominated, and seventeen of the forty-four performance category contenders have got their first nomination for the BAFTA Television Awards, which are scheduled for May 12.

Sara Putt, chair of BAFTA, said in a statement, “I’m thrilled to see so many first-time nominees, so much new and emerging talent, and so many debut projects recognised today.”

She continued, pointing out that female directors were “still significantly outnumbered” by their male counterparts in the number of prize submissions. “We hope our awards can play a positive role in reinforcing the value of nurturing new talent and ideas, as well as holding a mirror up to stubborn industry inequities,” she said.

The British soccer player’s miniseries “Beckham” included a scene where David pushes his fashion designer wife Victoria to be honest about her “working class” upbringing. This scene is among the nominees for the memorable moment award, which were unveiled last week.
