Surya Kiran, 51, died in Chennai on Monday from jaundice. In addition to appearing on Bigg Boss Telugu, he was recognized for directing films such as Satyam and Raju Bhai. Surya’s Cause of Death
On Monday, PRO Suresh took to X to announce the director’s death, writing, “Director Surya Kiran passed away owing to jaundice. He directed several Telugu films, including Satyam, Raju Bhai, and others. He had previously appeared on Bigg Boss Telugu. “Om Shanti.” PRO Suresh Kondeti also posted in Telugu on X, “Director Surya Kiran died in a Chennai hospital due to illness. I wish that his soul sleeps peacefully.”
Surya’s Career
Surya’s family is from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, however he was born in Chennai. He began his acting career as a child, appearing in a number of Telugu and Tamil films under the name ‘Master’ Suresh. He acted in several films, including Kadal Meengal (1981), Mangamma Sabadham (1985), Manithan (1987), Swayam Krushi (1987), and Khaidi No 786 (1987).
His debut film, Satyam, was released in 2003 and is a romantic comedy starring Sumanth and Genelia Deshmukh. The picture was a huge success, staying in theaters for over 150 days. He also directed films such as Brahmastram (2006), Raju Bhai (2007), and Chapter 6 (2020). He left performing and directing, only to return for season 4 of Bigg Boss Telugu in 2020. However, he revealed that he intended to make a comeback in 2017, only for the picture to be blocked in development.
Surya’s Family
The filmmaker was briefly married to actress Kalyani, best known for her role in Avunu Valliddharu Ishtapaddaru, until they split up. His sister, Sujitha Dhanush, is a television actor.
